Igniting a Homeschool Revolution
Modern education often feels hurried, rigid, and reactive. Families are constantly pressured by a traditional school system to push their children harder, accelerate faster, and measure their worth through standardized testing. However, this institutional system does not truly have our children's best interests at heart. Too often, it is a system designed to produce obedient cogs for a machine, teaching children rigid conformity in order to build wealth for the powers that be, rather than fostering a child's true, individual potential.
My mission is to help you take back control. I empower parents to step out of this system and instead raise confident, compassionate human beings who care deeply for humanity and their communities.
My Background & Experience
With over 25 years of experience "in the trenches" homeschooling my own two daughters, I know exactly what works and what doesn’t in guiding children from their primary years all the way through college preparation. Today, both of my daughters are successful college graduates, with my eldest currently pursuing a Master's degree at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Complementing my hands-on experience as a parent, I hold a Master of Science in Education (MSEd). This academic background gives me a deep, practical understanding of learning theories, pedagogical strategies, and what truly drives a child's success when learning from home.
States of Being: Adapting Together
Just as water seamlessly transforms, from a solid, grounded state to a rushing river or a rising mist, our children exist in many different states of being. Growth is incredibly dynamic, and children are never static. They move through different seasons of readiness, shifting temperaments, and changing developmental stages.
As parents, we must also learn to adjust like water. When a specific method fails or a child resists, our goal is not to escalate force or push harder. Instead, we flow around the obstacle and adjust our path. By remaining adaptable, taking the shape of our current circumstances without ever losing our core essence, we can respond to our children's ever-changing states with clarity and steadiness.
The Philosophy of Learning Like Water
Across history, literature, and philosophy, water has served as our most powerful metaphor for wisdom and growth. In the Tao Te Ching, water is celebrated for its wu wei (unforced action)- soft enough to yield, yet strong enough to overcome stone. Ancient Greek philosophers like Heraclitus saw the flowing river as the ultimate symbol of dynamic change and constant becoming, showing us that growth is never static. Indigenous traditions globally honor water as a relational, communal life-force, while poets and thinkers from Rumi to the American Transcendentalists viewed still water as a mirror for deep reflection, self-reliance, and self-expansion.
I believe learning works the exact same way. Real learning, the kind that shapes lifelong character, curiosity, and confidence, rarely grows under pressure. It grows like water. It adapts, it persists, it deepens, and it finds its way.
Through Learning Like Water, my coaching centers on this universal principle of unforced action. I will help you shift away from the expensive, rigid "school at home" mentality. Instead, we will focus on Adaptation Over Standardization, creating an educational path that adapts to your child’s unique temperament, developmental stage, and context, without abandoning intellectual rigor.
You do not need to force outcomes to see incredible growth. I am here to help you navigate obstacles, curate creative resources, and build a natural, experiential lifestyle of learning for your family.
